Registration Questions

How can I register my product?
Chevron DownChevron Down

Register your product by scanning your network using ControlFLASH Plus, upload your own product inventory, scan the QR code on the product packaging label or manually entering the product Serial Number and Catalog Number in this link.

How do I register a product using the QR code?
Chevron DownChevron Down

To scan a QR Code, open your phone’s native camera app or a third party QR Code scanner. Align the camera with the QR Code and follow the link.

What if I cannot locate the QR code to scan?

If you do not have access to the QR Code on the product label, you can manually enter the Serial Number and Catalog Number using the provided input fields.

Should I register to my Company or my Customer?
Chevron DownChevron Down

An end-user customer should register the product to “My Company” in the app. A Value-Added Reseller (OEMs, SIs, etc.) should register the product to “My Customer” in the app, assigning it to their end-user customer’s location. A Value-Added Reseller should only register to “My Company” if that is indeed the final product location

Why should I register my product?

Successfully registering your product could result in a warranty extension on top of our standard manufacturer warranty.

Warranty Questions

When will my warranty be extended?
Chevron DownChevron Down

Typically, within two weeks you should receive an email to view your warranty status updates. In some cases, it may take longer for us to verify the information submitted.

Why might my products be ineligible for registration or not approved?
Chevron DownChevron Down

There are many reasons why a product is not approved at time of registration. Some examples include:

  • The product information provided at the time of submission is incorrect.
  • The product information provided at the time of submission cannot be validated – some common reasons for this would be that the product is aged, has been tampered with, or is not authentic.
  • The product is not currently supported by the Product Registration Program.  The list of products eligible for product registration is found here.

Product Registration is intended for customers (such as System Integrators, OEMs, and End Users) registering recently manufactured products within the original factory warranty period.  Aged products may not be registerable.

Why could my product be ineligible for warranty extension?
Chevron DownChevron Down

Once your product’s registration is approved, your product may be ineligible for a warranty extension if your existing warranty is either already extended or expired. Warranty extensions are not cumulative.

CVS Upload Questions

Where can I find the template for the CSV file to submit my registrations?
Chevron DownChevron Down

You can find the CSV file template here.

Why is my CSV file not being uploaded correctly?
Chevron DownChevron Down

To properly submit products with a CSV file you:

  • must provide either the ASA Number (or CIP ID) for each product, or the combination of Serial Number (or WIN) and Catalog Number for each product,

  • must not include special characters or blank spaces when entering the Serial Numbers,

  • must also provide the file with a “List Name” in the indicated field,

  • must not change the format or column names in the file,

  • must not upload files larger than 2MB.

Some of my products submitted by CSV file are not showing as registered in my account.

We work to match Serial Number (also known as WIN), Catalog Number, ASA Number (also known as CIP ID) to ensure all products are registerable and authentic Rockwell Automation products. If a product is not registerable, it will appear in the non-registerable section of your Lists To Submit or Registration History in your Rockwell account.

ControlFlash Plus Questions

Where can I find the latest version of ControlFlash Plus?
Chevron DownChevron Down

The latest version of ControlFLASH Plus can be downloaded here. It is also included with the Studio 5000 Logix Designer.

What if ControlFLASH Plus does not pick up a product installed on my network?
Chevron DownChevron Down

Product Registration requires ControlFLASH Plus version 5 or later.

ControlFLASH Plus is only able to pick up Rockwell Automation products that are CIP enabled. If you do not see a networked device in the Inventory Report, then it may not be a CIP enabled device.

If it is a CIP enabled device, then please ensure that the FactoryTalk Linx drivers are configured correctly for the network that contains the device.

Also note that ControlFLASH Plus performance is dependent on your PC and network connection.  If you are experiencing slow performance or missing devices when browsing the network, try limiting the number of total devices being browsed to below 350.  You can limit the number of devices by:

  • Setting the number of levels to be browsed to 1 when browsing.  This will ensure that only the top-level network is scanned.
  • Configuring the FactoryTalk Linx shortcut drivers to scan a smaller portion of the entire network. Create additional drivers as necessary.  Each driver requires a separate Inventory Report.

If you are scanning more than one level of the network, you must expand all nodes you want scanned when doing it for the first time.  FactoryTalk Linx creates a cache of devices, and this cache must first be populated by expanding all the nodes and letting FactoryTalk Linx initialize its cache.
